Droitwich residents help make Fairtrade Fortnight a success

Droitwich Editorial 13th Mar, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

MORE than £400 was raised at a coffee morning held during Fairtrade Fortnight.

The cash collected at the event – at Droitwich Methodist Church last Saturday – will now be matched pound for pound by the Government under the Aid Match scheme.

As well as the refreshments, a Traidcraft stall made £300 and children were kept busy with a variety of activities, including biscuit decorating and making pasta jewellery.

Droitwich Mayor, Coun Bob Brookes, was among those who attended the coffee morning – with his wife Veronica.

Other events during Fairtrade Fortnight included one at the Women’s World Day of Prayer and a stall at the community market.

Anyone wanting more information on how they can be part of the Fairtrade Droitwich campaign should call Emily Bowsher on 01905 770364.
