A FAIRTRADE Fair held at Droitwich Methodist Church has raised £1,766 to help producers in developing countries.
The Traidcraft event, held at the end of October, gave visitors the chance to do some early Christmas shopping or stock up on Fairtrade food and drink. There was also Fairtrade items to try.
Maureen Hartridge, one of the event organisers, said young and old pulled together to put the fair on.
“We’re very pleased with the amount of money raised and delighted at how many people showed their support for Fairtrade.” she added.
Fairtrade results in better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers and more than 1.4million producers benefit from people buying Fairtrade products.
