A MAN stopped by police near Droitwich fled across six lanes of motorway traffic before being captured by officers.
The incident happened about 1.30pm today (Monday) on the M5.
A vehicle was pulled over on the southbound carriageway by Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) – the driver was a man who was wanted for a recall to prison for ‘serious offences’.
He made off running across three lanes of the southbound carriageway over the central reservation and across three lanes of the northbound stretch.
The search involved officers from CMPG, Operational Policing Units, police dogs and a helicopter – the man was arrested on a nearby Droitwich housing estate.
