CROOKS smashed a window of a car parked by Dodderhill School, on Crutch Lane, before escaping with a handbag.

It is believed the damage was caused to the driver’s front side window between 5pm and 5.33pm on April 23.

The black bag had a gold chain and contained a number of items including a £50 Fendi wallet, which had a number of bank cards and a driving licence in it, a child’s ring worth £50 and £100 worth of perfume and cosmetics.

A black Mercedes was seen acting suspiciously near the scene of the crime and the driver has been asked to come forward to help with inquirers.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
