Rallying call for Droitwich Half-Marathon runners

Droitwich Editorial 30th Oct, 2014 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

A RALLYING call has gone out to residents to come and cheer on the runners in the Droitwich Half-Marathon.

The event takes place on Sunday (November 2), starting and finishing at the town’s Gaudet Luce Golf Club and taking runners on a 13-mile course through beautiful scenic countryside.

This will be the fourth year it has been held and there has been a fantastic response to the 2014 race with all of the places selling out weeks ago.

Organisers say it has become a regular staple on the Midlands running calendar since its launch, building up momentum over the years.

And this year’s is the biggest Droitwich Half-Marathon yet with the event attracting the largest number of competitors ever.

The race, hosted by Droitwich Athletics Club, was due to be held in March but the extreme weather meant it had to be postponed.

It starts at midday on Sunday and chip timing is provided by StuWeb.

There are toilets and changing facilities provided and refreshments available.

There is free car parking in the town centre and a shuttle bus provided to transport people to the race.
