Boy airlifted to hospital from Droitwich

A CHILD had to be airlifted to hospital after he was hurt playing rugby in Droitwich this morning (Sunday).

The boy, believed to be about seven-years-old, was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital with potential spinal injuries following the incident at the Glyn Mitchell Memorial Ground, off Hanbury Road.

Emergency services were called to the site about 11.20am – ambulance crews treated the child at the scene before he was flown to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
