Man hospitalised after Droitwich crash

A MAN has been taken to hospital after a car hit another on the other side of the road in Droitwich.

The 21-year-old sustained neck and back injuries following the collision at 8am this morning (Friday) on the A38.

He had to be cut free from the wreckage by the fire service and crews from Droitwich and Worcester went to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer, a responder paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor aboard were in attendance.




“The man was immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board before being taken by land ambulance to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.”

The driver of the second car – a 28-year-old woman – sustained a graze to her face but no other injuries and she was discharged at the scene.


Both carriageways were closed by the police to enable to air ambulance to land as near to the collision as possible.
