A BURGLAR who broke into a Cutnall Green home and was caught by the owner escaped with almost £3,000 worth of jewellery and cash.

The thief was found by the householder, on Broad Alley, about 10.30am on July 1 – however no violence was used against the resident.

It is believed the raider got into the property by smashing a back patio door window before stealing a £400 gold watch, five chains valued at £525 and various costume jewellery costing an estimated £350.

As well as this, 20 sets of gold and silver earrings with a combined value of £1,000 were taken along with three gold rings worth about £750 and $150 in cash.
