ROYALIST Spatans are being urged to join members of the Droitwich Spa Forum for Older People to celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II becoming Britain’s longest-serving monarch.
A special cream tea will be held at the Tea Cups Cafe, Gurneys Lane, Droitwich, from 2pm to 4pm on Thursday (September 10).
The day before – on Wednesday (September 9) – The Queen will have been on the throne for 63 years and 27 days, beating her great great grandmother Queen Victoria – currently the longest serving.
Jill Edwards, from the Forum for Older People, said: “Everyone is welcome to celebrate this momentous occasion in British history with us and we hope to see as many people as possible come along.”
Tickets – for the tea and jam and cream scones – are £4 per person. That will cover the cost of the event, with any extra going to the forum to help older people in Droitwich.
