AN EXHIBITION of watercolour paintings has gone on display at Droitwich Library.

The exciting collection of 63 watercolour paintings was created by 15 Artists who have attended classes tutored by artist Andrew Clacher at Droitwich and Alvechurch Libraries during 2014/15.

Landscapes, figures, portraits and natural history are just some of the subjects painted.

Andrew told The Standard he was really delighted with the exhibition which represented the amazing progress made by all the students over the last academic year.

“They have worked really hard to get their paintings framed and ready for the exhibition, for which many, it is their first go at exhibiting.

“The classes welcome complete beginners as well as more experienced painters looking for guidance.

“For some of the painters, the last time they painted was at school and it is great to see how much they have enjoyed taking up painting again.”

He concluded by thanking all of the exhibitors and Worcestershire County Council Libraries and Learning for helping to organise and support the event.

The exhibition, which went on display on Tuesday, runs until September 28.
