Droitwich Spa Youth Council to be launched at Salt Fest

Droitwich Editorial 11th Sep, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

DROITWICH Spa Youth Council will be officially launched at Saltfest tomorrow (Saturday).

The group, which will have a stand in Vines Park, has been set up to allow young people in the town to have their say in how our town is managed and for them to convey what changes they would like to see in the future.

Coun Sital Harris, who has been heavily involved in the project, said: “We want to achieve a ‘voice’ for the youth in the town, so they have activities, music festivals, events, social surroundings to enjoy.

“We want to increase work experience and apprenticeship opportunities, bring back spa baths.

“Our youth are the future of Droitwich Spa, this is why Richard Morris and I want them to be actively involved with any further developments.”

The Droitwich Spa Youth Council has a one, two, and five year plan to improve opportunities.

They are asking local businesses and the whole community to support them to achieve a brighter future for young people in Droitwich.

Anybody who wishes to be involved should go along to Vines Park tomorrow, or get in touch with the town clerk at St Richards House.

The Droitwich Spa Youth Council also wants to thank Steve Bradbury from SMB In Print Design for sponsoring the group’s banner for the launch.

“We are very grateful for their support and we we like other local companies to also support us in any way they can,” added Coun Harris.
