Fernhill Heath Post Office is on the move

Droitwich Editorial 12th Sep, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

FERNHILL Heath post office will soon be relocated to another building on Droitwich Road.

The go-ahead has been given for the counter to open a new ‘local’ service store at 101 Droitwich Road – although the date of when this will happen has yet to be confirmed.

A poster will be displayed in the present shop, 100 Droitwich Road, once a date has been set.

The opening hours will be increased by an extra 73 hours and 30 minutes a week to ensure the branch is more convenient – it will be open between 5am and 9pm from Monday to Saturday and between 6am and 9pm on a Sunday.

The new branch will have an open-plan counter where the post office terminal will sit alongside the till, to ensure easy access and adequate space for wheelchair users.

All staff will be trained to Post Office standards and customers will be able to access a wider range of services, including special delivery, local collect and home shopping returns.

They will also be able to make online banking cash deposits and withdrawals, Post Office card account transactions, send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top-up mobile phones.
