Droitwich Air Cadets take to the skies with their new digital simulator

DROITWICH air cadets will soon be able to take to the digital skies thanks to a new investment made by the club.

The 2516 Squadron, based off Heritage Way, has received its new flight simulator which will allow its cadets to train on a variety of aircrafts.

The new kit will allow them to improve their skills to a standard which is acceptable as part of both a private pilots course and the cadets’ own glider pilot training programme.

It will also enable them to take part in local and national competitions.

The simulator was installed with the help of Wychavon District Council, which provided substantial financial support through the community grant programme, and secondly from the Alpine Computer Systems at Bishops Cleeve which designed and supplied the system.

Students, in year eight or above, have been invited to join the squadron where a wide range of activities including flying, adventure training, sports, D of E courses and much more is available.
