BUSINESS owners in Droitwich are being warned about sneak-in burglaries after three were carried out in the town in less than two months.

The latest one happened between 6.30pm and 7pm on Monday (November 7) at the firm’s premises in Pointon Way, Hampton Lovett, when the main office was entered and £300 was stolen.

Prior to getting to the main office and ransacking it, the intruders made it through a security door.

The two other incidents both happened on September 10.

In one, three men went into another business on Pointon Way.

The trio left the building after being challenged by a member of staff but when they had gone, it was discovered extensive damage was done to drawers which had clearly been rifled through.

Luckily, on that occasion, It is thought nothing was taken.

And in the third incident, between 7pm and 8pm, the would-be burglars entered a factory on the Berry Hill Industrial Estate which operates 24-hours-a-day.

Again drawers had been damaged where the raiders had searched for cash and valuables.

Sgt Sarah Kent, from Droitwich Police, said during times when buildings only had small numbers of employees or reception desks were not staffed, businesses could become complacent and that was when they were vulnerable to the sneak-in burglaries.

She added bosses and employees needed to be vigilant and ensure they knew who was on their premises at all times.

Anyone who notices any suspicious activity should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
