A DROITWICH farm has won a tourism award for its luxury ice cream.

Churchfields Farm, in Salwarpe, was given the Best Tastes of Worcestershire Award in the 2015 Visit Worcestershire Awards for Excellence at St Andrews Town Hotel.

Gillian Kerton, the farms owner, said: “We are all so proud that our ice cream is considered the best taste of Worcestershire.”

They will now have a chance to compete in the 2016 Visit England Awards for Excellence

“It’s a great to now have the opportunity to gain recognition at a national level,” she added.

Graham Spence, director of Worcestershire ambassadors, said: “The Awards this year were a brilliant event and a great opportunity to celebrate one of the county’s biggest industries, tourism.

“Some fantastic businesses were represented and these businesses help make Worcestershire the wonderful place it is to work, live and visit.

“We were particularly proud to sponsor the Best Tastes of Worcestershire Award, won by Churchfields Farm: congratulations to Churchfields and all the winners.”
