ONE OF the organisers of the annual Droitwich Beer and Musical Festival said residents would be able to remember David Bowie and his musical talent in their own ways when ‘Europe’s finest tribute act’ to him took to the stage this summer.
Simon Berry from the 4Shires Festivals confirmed to The Standard Absolute Bowie would be performing at the event on July 30.
Mr Berry said he had been in negotiations with the band since November and booked the act to play at the festival just last week.
“Looking back over periods of musical history, it’s hard to find many artists whose career spreads several decades but David Bowie is in that elite group.
“The performance at the festival this year will be a lot more poignant now and should give the people of Worcestershire a good chance to remember him and his music.”
Absolute Bowie has toured all over Europe for the last eight years, faithfully playing his music with an ‘unanny accuracy’ to their hero.
The show will take the audience on an incredible journey, enabling them to experience the different personas of Bowie, from Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane through to The Thin White Duke and the late 80s.
Tickets, which are £10, are now on sale and are selling fast.
