PARENTS are being warned to be on their guard when parking up on the school run after four cars near one Droitwich school were broken into within half-an-hour.

The incidents took place close to Ombersley Endowed First School, between 2.50pm and 3.15pm on Monday (January 18).

The cars were parked under the A449 Droitwich Road flyover and, among those targeted were a black VW Bora, a silver Toyota Aygo, a blue Vauxhall Zafira and a silver Ford Focus.

The raiders escaped with numerous personal items.

In one incident the back passenger side window was smashed and a maroon faux leather handbag and contents were stolen.

In another, a side window was again smashed and a brown fake Prada handbag and its contents was stolen.

Following the incidents, police are reminding people to ensure their vehicles are locked and that there are no valuables left on display to provide thieves with ‘easy pickings’.

Witnesses to the break-in or anyone with any information on them should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
