COUNTY Highways bosses have moved to reassure Droitwich residents that roadworks will be finished in time to ensure there will be no disruption during the first week back after half-term.
The Standard was contacted about the works taking place on the A38 Roman Way, the High Street, Friar Street and Newman Road as it was feared they would be carried out a week on Monday (February 22) – the day children return to school and many parents go back to work.
But a spokesperson for Worcestershire Highways said the closures would be from 8pm next Friday (February 19) to 5am on the Monday (February 22).
“There will be no disruption to commuters on Monday morning.
“This is essential surface requirement work that needs to take place in readiness for the Copcutt roundabout development.”
