THE LATEST meeting on the Droitwich Spa Brine Heritage Project will be held in the town on Wednesday (March 16).
The event, which starts at 7pm in the John Corbett Room of the Community Hall, Heritage Way, will see the issue of the town’s brine heritage discussed and the significant opportunities it provides for developing tourism in the town.
There are many local groups and residents with an interest in the brine heritage and it is hoped as many of those will go along on Wednesday.
After a welcome and introductions by Coun Richard Morris, Patrick Davis will put forward his proposed strategy and vision.
Alison Caffyn, a specialist in heritage tourism and regeneration, will give a short presentation on ‘how heritage can help tourism in market towns’ and there will be a community group session where people will be able to put forward ideas.
The evening will conclude with feedback on those ideas, questions being put to Coun Morris and an overview of the event.
Coun Morris said: “The evening will be a good opportunity for you to find out about the project, contribute your ideas and how you may get involved.
“In order to get the most out of the evening, it would be helpful if you could give some prior thought, to what you believe are the key aspects of the brine heritage and how these could be developed.”
Those wanting to attend should e-mail Janet Yates at [email protected] to let her know.
