Talk on History of Abberley Hall and Clock Tower to be given in Droitwich

Droitwich Editorial 4th Apr, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

THE History of Abberley Hall and Clock Tower will be the subject of the next meeting of the Droitwich History and Archaeology Society.

The event, at 7.30pm on April 6 in the John Corbett Room at Droitwich Community Hall, Heritage Way, will feature an illustrated talk by Jo Roche after a short AGM.

The Abberley estate dates back to the 1300s and the Italianate hall, built in the mid 1800s, is now occupied by a school. The clock tower, completed in 1885, stands as a prominent landmark from which six counties can be seen.

Jo who wrote the guide book will give a lively and informative talk.

A visit by the society to the clock tower is planned for August.

Everyone is welcome to the event and admission will be £2 for members and £4 for friends and visitors.

Annual subscriptions are due at this meeting.
