A BRAVE Droitwich student nurse is taking a 14,000ft jump to raise money for her fellow nurses in hardship.
Sara Mulligan is taking the leap from the plane for Redditch based nurses charity Cavell Nurses’ Trust on Saturday (April 9). The University of Worcester student is studying to be a Mental health Nurse and has been inspired by her mum’s work as a general nurse to join the fold.
“My mum has always been proud and excited about what she does and when I was working as a healthcare assistant I saw other dedicated nurses giving great care and I thought – I want to do that, that’s going to be me.”
The cause is close to Sarah’s heart after her uncle suffered a heart attack and received life saving care from doctors and nurses.
“I can’t thank them enough for that,” she added. She is hoping to raise £400 for the charity, “Nurses give so much and at some point they’ve got to have someone to look after them as well. It’s important that there is someone there for them, a safety net for when things go wrong.
“I think it’s really important and I’d like to be a part of that.”
