FAMILIES from across Droitwich have been making the most of the hot sunshine and the last day of the half-term break by heading to the town’s Lido.
With some of the local schools having a teacher training day today (Monday), youngsters and their parents were queuing out the gates in a bid to get a nice cool dip amidst soaring temperatures which are predicted to hit 25°C by 5pm.
One woman told The Standard: “There were lots of parents with their children. I know Westacre Middle and some of the surrounding village first schools were on teacher training today so the whole car park was full, plus people were queuing from the gate.”
She added, such was the outdoor pool’s popularity, another area was being used as an overflow car park.

Temperatures are set to stay in the late teens and early 20s for the next couple of days, although it will be cloudier with less direct sunlight.
No doubt youngsters will be hoping it brightens up again in time for the weekend so they can head back to the Lido for some more outdoor fun.
