THERE is now just a week to go to the Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival which will be officially opened by Winner of the Great British Bake Off Nadiya Hussain.
She will launch the event at 10am with the MP for Mid Worcestershire Nigel Huddleston.
At midday, Nadiya will prepare and cook three of her recipes from her recently released cookbook Nadiya’s Kitchen.
Among the dishes will be Za’atar and Lemon Palmier, Bengali Korma and Cheery Bakewell Macaroon.
Nadiya will also sign copies of her cook book while at the festival
Local chefs will also prepare a variety of dishes throughout the day in the demonstration kitchen in Vines Park and there will be lots to eat and drink as well as free entertainment for adults and children on both days.
The Droitwich Festival was first set up in 2013 and after only 3 years has become a leading foodie festival in the Midlands with 200 stalls over the two days and an estimated 18,000 visitors per day.
The Standard reported last week how the organisers are looking for nominees for the ‘Best Dad in Droitwich’, ‘Best Pie in Droitwich’ and the best young bakers in its ‘Junior Bake-Off’.
The Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival is run by a committee of volunteer representatives and is supported by Wychavon District Council.
