FORMER British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain attracted the biggest ever crowd to Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival which took place in the town last weekend.
Organisers say this year’s extravaganza has been a huge success with the biggest attendance to date.
Nadiya was a huge hit with the many people she met and had her photograph taken with.
And the talented chef’s master class cookery demo was completely sold out, with standing room only.
Her cook book Nadiya’s Kitchen, which she signed for visitors, was sold out within a couple of hours.
Nadiya toured the stalls in the town and Vines Park and presented the awards for the Junior Bake Off Winners. In the five to nine-year-old age category Alex Payne was victorious and Ben Parker won the section for those aged between ten and 15.
Nadiya also presented the best-dressed window competition won by Simply Health based in St Andrews Shopping Centre.
A total of 18 shops in Droitwich entered and dressed their windows on the theme of ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
Flowers of Elegance based in Gurneys Lane was also highly commended after transforming its whole front window into a tea party setting – made completely in flowers.
Over the weekend there were more than 200 stalls throughout the town, showcasing local produce, and the streets were packed with people.
