FOUR members of Droitwich Spa Judo Kan attended the first Midlands Mix and Match Competition fighting their way to several medals.

Sian Evans, Harry Evans, Megan Skillern and Robert Alloway attended the event in Stockland Green, Birmingham which was open to all Amateur Judo Association members.

Sian fought with determination and pulled out some great techniques to earn herself a bronze medal while Harry managed to win one of his fights with one of the best ippon techniques of the day.

He put up a great effort against the rest of his opponents to claim the bronze medal.

Skillern managed to pin her first opponent to the ground to secure victory but lost out on her second fight.

However, she quickly bounced back with a strong performance and held her ground to win her fight and the gold medal in the process.

Alloway was the last up to fight and put in some solid attacks and defended well against his opponents with skill to walk away with bronze.

Droitwich’s success comes after Skillern and Alloway came away with a fantastic result at the East Midlands Area Competition held in Leicester.

Skillern walked away with the gold medal in her category with a combination of well-timed techniques and well-executed hold downs.

Alloway put on show a great display of techniques despite being the smallest in his weight category to claim bronze.
