AN ILLUSTRATED talk on ‘Sentenced to beyond the Seas’ will be given by David Clark in Droitwich on Wednesday (July 6).
It focuses on the journey of those people from Worcestershire who, years ago, were sent to Australia to be reformed when they had broken the law.
David Clark has researched the people behind the names in the court records, their personal stories, their transgressions and sentences and whether they did indeed reform.
The presentation, organised by the Droitwich History and Archaeology Society, takes place at 7.30pm in the John Corbett Room of Community Hall, Heritage Way.
Everyone is welcome and admission is £2 for society members and £4 for visitors and friends.
