A CHARITY football match held at Droitwich Leisure Centre has raised £900 for Cancer Research UK and the Velindre Cancer Centre in Wales.
The event, the third of its kind, was organised by best friends Greg Unitt and Christian Dashey, who wanted to show their appreciation towards the Velindre Cancer Centre.
The charity helped Greg’s sister-in-law Rebecca Lewis-Rock spend priceless moments with her family before she died in late September 2015.
The three events have now raised £1,500 for the causes.
Greg said the charity match was a celebration of Rebecca’s life as well as to raise funds and he and Christian thanked everyone who supported the event, donated to the causes and made it such a special occasion.
The pair said they were ‘overwhelmed’ and ‘encouraged’ by families, friends and generous supporters for raising the cash.
