DROITWICH residents are being urged to dig out their sports kits and help Sanders Fitness Centre raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice by joining staff and members for the first ever Charity Workout Challenge.

The workout will take place at centre on the Gaudet Luce Golf and Leisure Complex, at 11am next Sunday (August 14).

The interval-based fitness challenge starts with 1.2mile run, followed by 100 burpees, 200 press-ups and 300 squats. The run is then repeated.

Participation costs £3 and any additional donations or sponsorships are welcomed. There will be food, drinks, a raffle and more available on the day.

Clive Sanders, director at Sanders Fitness said: he was proud to launch the first Charity Workout Challenge, adding he hoped it would become an annual event.

“Welcoming the whole community we’d like to see as many people as possible joining in, be that taking part, donating or cheering on the participants of the fitness fund-raiser.

“The care St. Richard’s Hospice provide to their patients is a vital resource and we’re passionate about raising money and awareness for their cause. ”

St Richard’s fund-raising manager Rachel Jones said she was delighted and grateful Sanders Fitness was supporting St Richard’s Hospice with what was an innovative challenge.

“We rely on the support of our local community and businesses to raise funds so we can continue the free care and support to thousands of patients and families each year.”
