THERE was a three-day ale extravaganza at the weekend when the second Droitwich Beer, Cider and Music Festival took place.
Aloms 2,000 revellers went along from last Friday (July 29) to Sunday (August 31) where there was no less than 30 real ales, seven craft beers, 30 ciders, eight summer ciders and seven drink launches. Around 10,000 pints were drank over the weekend.
Live music included Fred Zeppelin on the Friday night, Absolute Bowie on the Saturday and The Beached Boys on the Sunday.
There was also a performance from local band Skabucks, a beach party with DJ James Stevens, a zombie bootcamp, a host of stalls, a burger bar and plenty for youngsters to do with a funfair, bouncy castles and candy floss.
Simon Berry, from 4Shires Festivals, who organised the feedback said he had received some amazing feedback from all the acts.
Fred Zeppelin said: “It was a great to see the crowd with glasses in hand and Zeppelin in their hearts.”
They added even the heavens opening during ‘Stairway to Heaven’ could not even dampen the spirits of a fantastic evening.
Absolute Bowie said they enjoyed the warm welcome from the people of Droitwich.
And the Beached Boys added it was one of the best outdoor stages they had performed on – it was a wonderful atmosphere, especially during the foam party began.
