DROITWICH students have taken a turn on the opposite side of the classroom this week and experienced what life is like as a teacher.
The year 12 and 13 pupils at Droitwich spa High School took part in the pre-GCS (Pre-Graduate Certificate) which saw them taking control of the classroom and assessment of the work produced.
Mar Drew, leader of the course and teacher said: “The students get a real, practical experience of teaching and we teach them in the main skills of behaviour management, lesson planning, assessment, differentiation and SEN work.”
The course is supported by the university of Worcester who give the youngsters a certificate for their efforts across the year.
Headteacher Natalie Waters added: “ Such a unique course has required dedication, maturity, responsibility and self discipline from the students involved. Their success is very well deserved.”
