A RESIDENT had a lucky escape when a tumble dryer overheated yesterday afternoon (Monday).
Two crews from Droitwich Fire Station and one from Worcester attended the incident which happened at 1.30pm at the property in Vines Lane.
The woman was checked over by paramedics at the scene as a precautionary measure.
Following the incident, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service has reissued its advice regarding tumble dryers.
Users should always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, clean the filters regularly to ensure they do not become blocked with fluff and refrain from overloading them.
Tumble dryers should also not be used at night or left unattended and items should be removed as soon as the cycle is finished.
Plugs sockets should also not be overloaded.
