RESIDENTS can find out more about Droitwich’s past tomorrow (Saturday) at a special event being held in the upstairs gallery of the town’s library.

Local historians and some of their collections will be on display between 10am and midday, as will the Historic Droitwich exhibition which runs until next Friday (October 7).

Visitors can also take along any old photographs and documents they have and share any historic information or stories about the people and buildings in the High Street and Friar Street – the areas explored through the Historic Droitwich project.

Then next Sunday (October 9), Lyn Blewitt will be taking people on a free informative history walk which everyone is welcome to.

The stroll will explore ‘Droitwich’s Oldest Buildings’ along Friar Street and High Street and enable participants to find out what ‘Historic Droitwich’ has discovered during its three-year Heritage Lottery funded project, including the latest results of dendrochronology (tree ring dating) research.

Those wanting to take part in the walk should meet outside Droitwich Fire Station, Friar Street, at 2.30pm.

Although the event is free, places need to be booked by calling Claire Lloyd on 01905 771865.
