DROITWICH Spa Ladies Seconds enjoyed a 6-0 victory over Stourport Fifths in their final pre-season match ahead of their Worcestershire League Division Three opener.
Following last week’s 3-0 defeat to Bournville, the Ladies enjoyed an emphatic victory as the visitors could not live with the quicker moment of players and quicker thinking of the hosts who scored three goals in each half.
Emily Hassell opened the scoring early in the first half before Rachel Cooper raced forward to double the advantage.
Jenny Cooper then completed the first half scoring.
Stourport found it very difficult to mount any sustained attacks as Rachel Cooper, Hassell harried their advances.
After the break, Stourport continued to go for goal but thwarted in their attempts by midfielders Caitly Denby and Pat Hine who were on hand to mop up any stray balls.
Spa looked dangerous on the break as Anna Weston and Gabriella Prendiville hit with swift counter-attacks before the latter made it 4-0 after her shot deflected in off the keeper after cutting into the circle.
Player of the match Jenny Cooper then was on hand at the back stick to make it 5-0 before namesake Rachel added her second to complete the scoring.
Spa travel to Bournville Ladies Seconds on Saturday (October 8) for their season opener.
Elsewhere, the Ladies Firsts ensured they remained unbeaten in Division Two after drawing 1-1 with Old Halesonians Firsts.
The result keeps Spa in third place ahead of their trip to Bromsgrove Ladies Thirds on Saturday.
