RESIDENTS wanting to pick up a brush and try their hand at ‘painting a portrait’ can head to Hanbury Hall this weekend.

Members of Droitwich Arts Network (DAN) will be in the Long Gallery at the National Trust venue tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday (October 9) dressed in period costume from the historic house’s Vernon era.

Those who go along will be able to have a go at painting the portraits of some of the family members who once resided at Hanbury.

Rosie Philpott, Artist and DAN Secretary said the network loved to provide creative opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels.

“We love sharing our enthusiasm for the arts and encouraging others to have a go at something they might not have done since childhood.

“Please support our local artists and have a go yourself – you might discover a hidden talent.”

DAN chair Malcolm Wakeman added the group was delighted to be holding the annual exhibition at Hanbury Hall, which was a wonderful venue that had become a favourite of many visitors.

“The fine works of art on display by our talented artist demonstrates a range of skills, techniques and mediums that they have used.”

Everyone is welcome to the portrait sessions which coincide with DAN’s annual exhibition. It began in the Long Gallery on Tuesday and runs until Sunday.
