A DROITWICH wildlife artist and photographer has unveiled her latest exhibition in the town.

Julie Hunt’s collection, featuring pictures created in watercolour and coloured pencils, along with some of her photographs, is available to view at the Canalside Studios in St Andrew’s Square for the next month.

Julie, who is driven by a passion for nature and wildlife, recently came second in a public vote in an open, national competition held by Jackson’s Art for her coloured pencil drawing of a Hare (pictured). It landed her £50 for new art materials.

Julie is also an accomplished photographer who won a Highly Commended award for capturing a ‘Laughing Seal’ in the Comedy Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest.

At the prestigious awards ceremony in London she met two of the judges – wildlife TV presenter Kate Humble and TV actor/comedian Hugh Dennis.

Julie Hunt is a member of DAN (Droitwich Arts Network) and also attends a small weekly art group ‘BodArt’ run by talented Droitwich artists John and Dora Bodley.

Julie said: “Throughout the past year, I’ve learnt many techniques from the Bodleys.

“I have also learnt to improve techniques and develop my style of drawing by attending workshops run by well known artists in the UK.

“My focus for 2017, is to concentrate on creating original drawings and build up my portfolio of wildlife art.”
