Droitwich Mayor enjoyed a busy December with plenty of events to attend

Droitwich Editorial 7th Jan, 2017   0

DECEMBER was the season for Christmas Carol Services, most with their own individual interpretation of the Christmas story, some with performances by school choirs and Salvation Army Band. All very festive.

I also attended St Peter’s C of E Academy’s Christmas Service at Worcester Cathedral.

St Peter’s has 450 pupils aged between four and nine and the service was attended by children and their family members. Readings were by staff and children and the school choir sang. The service was supported by Droitwich Salvation Army Band and songsters.

Bromsgrove Scouts held their Christmas Carol Service at All Saints Church, Bromsgrove, a service conducted by scouts and their leaders.

Other carol services were held on behalf of the Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council at St. Mary’s Church, Kidderminster, the Mayor of Worcester Carol Service at the Guildhall, the County Council Carol Service at County Hall with superb performances by school choirs.

Bromsgrove District Council’s Carol Service took place at St John’s Church and Malvern Hills District Carol Service took place at St James Church, Malvern.

A spectacular and well-attended event was the traditional Carol Service held at Worcester Cathedral.

A well-supported event was the Westlands Annual Community Hall fayre with stalls provided by local residents.

Proceeds to the Community Hall and Tuesday Club.

A happy New Year to all.
