Tristan Harris 4th Feb, 2017   0

WORKPLACES and community groups across Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Rubery and South Birmingham can book free talks about bowel cancer to raise awareness among their employees or members.

The 30-minute session is is delivered by a trained health promotion volunteer who often has a personal experience of bowel cancer.

The programme raises awareness of the disease, highlighting symptoms, risks and the importance of good bowel health and screening.

It was awarded a Health and Wellbeing Award by the Royal Society of Public Health.

Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK, with 16,200 people dying each year of the disease and nearly 42,000 people diagnosed. However bowel cancer is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early. Nearly everyone diagnosed at the earliest stage will survive bowel cancer but this drops significantly as the disease develops.

Visit bowelcanceruk.org.uk/bookatalk or email [email protected] for more information or to book a free talk.
