THIS was the moment when Droitwich Spa CVS’ Community Transport Scheme received its new minibus.
The Mayor of Droitwich Spa, Coun Roy Murphy, trustees, staff, volunteer drivers and service users were at St Richard’s House on Friday (February 3) to see Mid Worcestershire MP Nigel Huddleston hand over the keys to head of services Tonia Enderbury.
The new minibus, made possible thanks to a Department of Transport for our Community Transport scheme, has wheelchair accessibility and will be used to provide journeys for local charities and other not-for-profit organisations in the town.
Tonia Enderbury, head of services at Droitwich Spa CVS, said: “The weather wasn’t too bad for the long-awaited handover and it was great to see so many people come out to see the moment the keys were handed over.”
Anyone wanting to find out more about the minibus, booking it or anyone interested in becoming a volunteer with the community scheme should call the transport line on 01905 779778.
