THE SPA branch of Specsavers has collected more than 130kg worth of items for the Droitwich Spa Foodbank.
The St Andrews Square opticians rallied its customers to donate items, such as jars of food, dried pasta, rice, soups, biscuits and other non-perishables, so parcels could be made up to help the town’s needy.
Store director Emma Singh said it was something they did every year and thanked their customers for being so generous.
“It’s really important to recognise that there are so many people in our community who struggle to provide for themselves and their families.
“As a local business, it’s our responsibility to help as much as we can.
“We hope these emergency supplies go a long way during the winter months and those in need are able to find some comfort in what we have donated.”
