CHILDREN and staff from year six at Witton Middle School enjoyed a themed day last Friday (February 17) which was inspired by a book they are studying this term.
The youngsters participated in a ‘circus’ of fun activities based on ‘Private Peaceful’ by Michael Morpurgo.
Among them were making keepsake ‘photo frames’, cooking ‘rabbit dropping’ cakes, singing traditional marching songs, playing traditional playground games and visiting an old-fashioned schoolroom.
A spokesperson for the school said: “Teachers and children were dressed in costume and a great deal of fun was had by all.”
