A DROITWICH woman has completed her ninth fund-raiser for St Richard’s Hospice – a triathlon she devised herself.
Angela Bill’s event consisted of a 2km swim at Droitwich Leisure Centre, a 20km cycle and a 20km walk route through the town, taking in its canals and parks. She completed the whole challenge in just six hours, raising more than £770 for the charity.
Mrs Bill, who has retired from the family business Shooting Supplies Ltd in Bromsgrove, has been a long time supporter of St Richard’s Hospice’s care after working there 13 years ago.
Her previous fund-raising challenges have included walking the Atlas Mountains, a 15-mile Malvern Hills walk, a Midnight Walk, the 31-mile Worcestershire Way and a skydive.
Her daughter Alison has joined her for many of the challenges.
Angela , who has lived in Droitwich with her family for more than 30 years, said working at the charity she had seen first-hand the great work it did.
”I am passionate about the hospice being able to continue to offer its free care and this is why I took on my ninth challenge to raise funds.
”I had huge support from people which is what kept me going and my husband Roger has been a great support through all my challenges.”
St Richard’s Hospice fund-raiser Jayne Sargeant said: “We really appreciate all the fund-raising Angela has done over the years, taking on a wide range of challenges in her bid to raise as much money as possible to help fund our continuing care.”
