A WORLD Book Day quiz was held at Witton Middle School, challenging pupils to match up classic quotes to literary works, such as ‘There’s no place like home’ from The Wizard of Oz.
The bell sounded every hour signalling for the children to ‘drop everything and read’ which provided great fun.
Pupils who had at least one classic novel from the library were entered into a prize draw.
Headteacher Cath Crossley said: ““There’s a very strong link between those who read widely and academic excellence and we want to encourage our pupils to read superb classic stories which have stood the test of time.”
