A MOTORIST had a lucky escape when their van caught fire on the M5 between Droitwich and Worcester.
The incident took place at 7.39pm on Saturday night (April 1) between Junction 5 and 6.
A crew from Droitwich and one from Worcester attended and found the van well alight.
They used breathing apparatus and hose jets as they battled the blaze.
The driver was already out of the vehicle when the emergency services arrived.
Highways England was also contacted in case any repairs needed to be made to the carriageway.
