YOUNG firefighters from Droitwich took part in a passing out parade after completing their 13-week intensive training course, writes Joseph Weeks.
The event, at Droitwich Fire Station on Saturday (May 13), saw the seven new Young Firefighters Association (YFA) recruits showcase their new skills by carrying out hose running drills, ladder climbs, and a number of exciting rescue scenarios in front of their friends, family and fire service personnel.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer John Hodges, who presented the new members with their certificates, said “The new members of the Young Firefighters Association have done themselves and their families proud and I would like to formally congratulate them for completing their training.”
These new members will now move on to learning advanced techniques, as well as taking part in a number of different social activities.
The YFA is open to young people aged 13 to 17.
