Beer Day Britain is Droitwich pub's most successful event ever

THE BEER Day Britain event at the Gardeners Arms has been hailed a great success after attracting hundreds of revellers over the weekend.

The day itself was last Saturday (June 15) but, with Father’s Day on the Sunday, pubs were urged to extend it from the Thursday to the Sunday.

X-Factor finalist Charlie Healey and Dave Jones from Hair of the Dog both pulled in the crowds but the pick of the nights was Saturday when 675 people watched Skabucks performing.

Simon Berry, the pub’s landlord, said: “A director from CAMRA, the real ale group, who came down was very impressed with what he saw, as were the organisers of Beer Day Britain.

“It has been both one of the most successful campaigns we have run and one of the best-attended events.”
