ENOUGH funds have now been collected to put a bench in Vines Park in memory of Allen Green, who died in a tragic narrowboating accident in Droitwich.
His mum Jean Green has been raising cash for the fitting memorial and around £200 was collected following a Musical Bingo Night at the Gardeners Arms.
Jean won one of the raffle prizes and selected a bottle of champagne.
The Worcester-Birmingham and Droitwich Canals Society (WBDCS) has now agreed to fund the rest of the amount needed and the official unveiling will take place in Vines Park at 11am next Saturday, July 22.
Allen lost his life last year when his narrowboat became stuck in a lock on the Droitwich Canals and filled up with water.
