CROWDS turned out to enjoy the sunshine and festivities at the 25th Salwarpe Fete.
The silver anniversary celebrations, held on Saturday (August 19) at Churchfields Farm, were kicked off by BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester presenter Nina Das Gupta who performed the official opening ceremony.
Nina went on to visit all the attractions, having a go at guessing the weight of the anniversary cake, closely watched by Carol Hughes, fete organiser, who had baked and iced it for the occasion.
Reverend Bev Jameson tried her seat at the bucking bronco, which had a queue all afternoon, and plenty of children had a ride on the real thing, provided by Party Ponies.
From smashing crockery to hooking ducks, bashing your opponent off the greasy pole to shooting skills, a bran tub to skittles and wellie-wanging, there was something for all the family.
The classic vehicles included a 90-year-old Rolls Royce and an ancient military vehicle, while the dog show attracted even more variety.
Two Churchfields vans sold ice-cream and a barbecue was held while Salwarpe WI provided cream teas.
In the central arenas, Worcester Ukelele Band provided a musical backdrop with traditional George Formby favourites and there was a gymnastics display, after which children in the audience were invited to join in.
Proceeds from the annual fete go towards maintaining the ancient churches at Salwarpe and Martin Hussingtree.
