DROITWICH Camera Club held two successful ‘photo walks’ as part of the 2017 Droitwich ArtsFest.
They were free to members of the public and saw participants taken around the town with the chance to show off their photography skills.
There was a range of abilities in the group, from keen amateur photographers to complete novices.
Dave Hull, Droitwich Camera Club’s publicity officer, said: “The walks were very successful, attracting a reasonable crowd and providing plenty of fun.”
There was a competition for the best image taken on the day and the prize was a print of the winner’s image, donated by Michael Neil Photography which is based at Droitwich’s Old Town Hall.
The lucky winner was Justine Humphries for her photograph of ‘Moss and Lichen on a Roof’.
Mr Hull added: “We were very impressed by the overall quality and variety of the work produced on the day, but we especially liked the clarity and richness of Justine’s image and it was a worthy winner.”
Rosie Philpott, Artist and member of Droitwich Arts Network said: “I was leading a sketching walk when suddenly a large group of photographers appeared to take photos of the Salt Statue we were sketching.
“It was quite funny to see but I was very proud to be amongst this artistic activity in the town.
“I think we will definitely do this again”.
Droitwich Camera Club starts its new season on Monday, September 4. The first session is free and more details can be found at www.droitwichcamera.co.uk or by calling 07803 162895.
