AN APPEAL has been launched by the Droitwich Waterways Pamela May Trust to raise enough funding for a new boat.
The current community narrowboat is now 22 years old and will soon need replacing.
It is equipped with a lift and disabled toilets so boat trips along Worcestershire’s ornate canals can be offered to as many people as possible.
It is estimated the new boat will cost around £80,000 and the trust already has £23,000 which can be put towards it.
Fund-raising began on Sunday afternoon with the Cream Tea Cruise and the next event to be held by the trust will be the duck race in Vines Park next Saturday and Sunday, September 9 and 10, as part of Saltfest.
