The team from Specsavers on St Andrews Square, raised more than £50 through donations and a charity collection in store.

RNIB provides practical and emotional support for people experiencing sight loss and aims to help those suffering from sight loss and vision problems to face the future with confidence.

Store director and optometrist Emma Singh said: “We are always keen to raise money for charity and are extremely passionate about eye health, so helping to fund RNIB’s wonderful work is extremely important to us.

“It’s a great way for us to give something back and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who made a donation.”

The charity encourages people to use its helpline where questions and queries are answered and advice is offered.

The team addresses a number of issues, including the Eye Information Service, the Tax Advice Service and counselling.

RNIB also offer services to make life easier for those who experience difficulty when reading, such as libraries with braille and audio books to specifically help people with sight problems.
